The No. 7 Terps (8-3, 3-1 Big Ten) headed to the West Coast this past week for two games, earning a bounce-back win over Arizona State on Thursday and now look ahead to No. 18 USC on Saturday.

After a loss to Penn in a tight game, they earned a win against Arizona State, winning 18-14 and leading in all quarters except for the second.

Junior Kori Edmondson, sophomore Maisy Clevenger and freshman Devin Livingston all scored at least three goals in the game.

Maryland now has eight wins under its belt and only three losses so far this season. The University of Southern California stands at eight wins and four losses.

This will be the first time the Terps and Trojans go against each other since joining the Big Ten Conference this year.

The Trojans (8-4, 1-3) started off their season with a loss to Stanford but had a win streak of seven until they lost to Johns Hopkins. They’ve been able to get some ranked wins against both No. 21 Colorado and No. 19 Ohio State.

They perform strongly in taking advantage of shots on goal and gaining possessions through draw controls.

Senior Maddie Dora is a vital player for USC offensively and was honored as Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week back in February, the first award for the Trojans since joining the Big Ten, with a total of 48 goals so far this season.

Sophomore Annie Shields is another vital player for their defense and was named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week the same week as Dora.

The Terps will need to control possession against the Trojans if they want to leave the West Coast with two wins in hand.

The game will begin at 4 p.m. on Saturday.
