Maryland gymnastics (2-3) is looking for a win as it prepares to compete in the Rutgers quad meet, where it will face three teams Rutgers (9-2), Fisk (4-9) and Utica (0-0).

Earlier this season, Maryland started off with two wins after the Lone Star Challenge podium meet but has since had two tough losses to UCLA (197.550-194.850) and Nebraska (196.325-195.950). The Terps will now have an opportunity to bounce back and potentially add three wins in the upcoming quad meet.

Rutgers had a hot start to its season, having its highest season-opening score of 194.850 since 2014. Following a quad meet victory where they earned 194.450, both meets have shown their best event is beam, where they have consistently scored high throughout all their meets so far this season. Their last meet was against Penn State, where they fell short and recorded their second loss of the season so far.

Fisk University is a fairly new team to the NCAA, becoming the first Historically Black College or University (HBCU) to start a gymnastics team in 2022. The Bulldogs began their season with slightly more losses than wins but have shown improvement. Their overall score at the start of the season was 189.075 against Kent State, compared to their most recent meet at the Lindsey Ferris Invitational, where they scored an overall of 191.225 and placed fourth. One highlight of this meet for the team was junior Morgan Price won the all-around title with a score of 39.450.

Fisk and Rutgers have already competed against each other this season in the MLK Jr. quad meet, where Rutgers ultimately came out on top.

Utica University has placed second in all three of its meets so far this season. In its most recent meet, the Utica Quad, the team set a new program record of 188.275. Freshman Emmy Graff placed second with a combined score of 38.450.

The quad meet will take place Sunday at 1 p.m.
