The Terps (5-5) are in Seattle, preparing to compete against the Washington Huskies (2-4) for the first time since Washington was added to the Big Ten.
Maryland had a close loss at home on Feb. 7 to No. 22 Penn State with an overall score of 195.225, while Penn State had a score of 195.550. The Terps also had junior Maddie Komoroski record a career-high on beam with a score of 9.900.
Prior to that loss, the Terps added three wins to their record at the Rutgers quad meet, and they are currently ranked No. 22 in the floor event.
A win at Washington could be just the boost the Terps need.
The Huskies started their season at the Washington Quad and placed third, defeating UC Davis. They recorded multiple personal and season bests during their dual meet against UCLA. Bars was one of the events where they recorded a season-best score of 49.300, along with beam, where they posted another 49.300.
In their most recent meet against Oregon and Alaska, they set new records as well, earning a season-best overall score of 195.700 on the road. They have also shown throughout their meets that floor is one of their strong suits.
Although the Huskies have lost more meets than they have won, they have had a strong season so far, setting many records.
The Terps and Huskies will compete at Alaska Airlines Arena tonight at 9:30 p.m.
