No. 7 Maryland (10-4, 5-1 Big Ten) heads to Rutgers (8-7, 2-4) for its second to last matchup of the season Wednesday.

Maryland has had a strong year, with a recent win over Ohio State on Sunday and a ranked victory on the West Coast against No. 22 USC last Wednesday.

Rutgers, meanwhile, has struggled in Big Ten play. The Scarlet Knights are on a three-game losing streak, with defeats against Penn State, USC and Northwestern.

One recurring issue for Rutgers this season has been its high turnover rate.

Against Army, Rutgers had 21 turnovers. It repeated that number against Johns Hopkins. In both games, turnovers were a major factor in the losses.

In the most recent loss they faced to USC, the Scarlet Knights only had a one-point deficit but allowed USC 8 goals after halftime while they only scored twice in the third quarter and 0 in the last.

These are areas where the Terps could capitalize. But the Scarlet Knights also bring strong key players that could put up for a good battle between the two teams.

Offensively, Lily Dixon and Alexa Corbin are lead players. Dixon has a total of 32 assists, and defensively, their goalkeeper Lexie Coldiron was named National Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week after their win against Ohio State, where she had six saves and played a critical role in their win.

The Terps have historically dominated in the matchups in the past to Rutgers. The game will begin at 6:00 p.m.
