This season, the No. 14 Maryland Terrapins have performed well in the Xfinity Center and at neutral locations. In such contests, the Terps are 20-1.

When Maryland has travelled to face teams on their home court, they haven’t seen the same success, posting a 4-6 record on the road.

In Bloomington, Ind. on Sunday, Maryland (24-7, 12-5 B1G) dropped their final regular season game this season at the hands of No. 12 Indiana (25-6, 15-3 B1G), 80-62.

Forward Troy Williams paced the Hoosiers offensively with 23 points, 16 of which came in the second half. Yogi Ferrell added 17 points.

Point guard Melo Trimble led the Terps with 17 points on 7-for-17 shooting from the field and 3-for-9 from three. Forward Robert Carter Jr. scored 14 points, while center Diamond Stone tallied 12.

While the Terps outrebounded Indiana 32-31, they committed five more turnovers than the Hoosiers. Indiana shot 51 percent from the field, compared to a 41 percent mark by Maryland. Indiana made 20-for-25 free throws, while Terps attempted eight and made six.

In the second half of an 81-55 victory over Illinois on Thursday, the Terps shot 66.7 percent from the field and 76.9 percent from three. Early in the first half against the Hoosiers, the Terps picked up where they left off. Maryland opened the game on a 10-2 run in the first 3:11, making 4-for-6 field goals. Forward Jake Layman made two threes during the stretch.

With 13:01 remaining in the first half, Maryland held an 18-12 lead. Over the next 3:32, Indiana enjoyed an 11-4 run to give themselves a 23-22 lead, their first of the game. In the final 29 and a half minutes, the Terps were not able to regain the lead. Indiana closed the first half on a 23-6 run and led 41-28 at the break.

Guard Jaylen Brantley hit a three that brought the Terps within single digits, 64-55, with 6:55 remaining in the game. The Terps stuck around for several minutes; with 3:37 remaining, Layman sank his third triple to make it 72-62, Hoosiers.

Those were the last points the Terps scored as Indiana closed the game on an 8-0 run, taking a pair of timeouts in the final 15 seconds to sub in their seniors and reserves.

Just days after their own senior night, the Terps were forced to watch Indiana glimmer in the spotlight as Maryland dropped their fourth game in their last six and suffered their sixth road loss of the season.

Maryland finished the regular season in the top four of the conference. They will play on Friday after taking a double bye in the Big Ten Tournament. The Terps are likely to face Iowa or Wisconsin.
