Thank you for everything, Terrapin Sports Central

It’s hard to put into words how much this organization means to me, but I’m going to give it my best shot.

When I first joined Terrapin Sports Central, formally known as The Left Bench, I thought I’d just be doing some cool things like covering games. Little did I know I was in for a whole lot more. TSC quickly became everything to me, it became my second family.

Whenever I tell people about TSC I tell them everything I know, the journalist I am today, is because of this organization. I mean it’s pretty awesome I got to produce sports shows, cover such fun games and travel to different states. From covering volleyball to lacrosse to football and basketball, I learned a lot. I never knew I could achieve so much from joining a club. But like I said, it’s so much more than just a club.

It’s been a dream to be a part of this organization and to lead it. Being an Executive Producer has taught me a lot. It’s taught me to be patient, determined and creative. I loved getting to work with everyone and helping with packages and segments. The best part was seeing everyone’s hard work come to fruition on show days and how excellent it turned out.

Of course, there’s a list of people I have something to say to because I love everyone so much.

First, to Kevin McNulty, Katie Maher, Steve Mehling and everyone else who came before me, thank you for keeping this organization going and making it such a fun, welcoming environment. Kevin, Katie and Steve, thank you for being my mentors throughout college and continuing to be there for me every step of the way. But most importantly, thank you for trusting me to run this amazing organization. I hope I made you guys proud. I miss you guys more than you’ll ever know.

To my producers, Nate Schwartz, Alex Gary, Jonas Evans, Alexa Wootten, Matt Neus and our former Editor-in-Chief, Brandon Schwartzberg, you guys are amazing. Watching you all grow since you joined freshmen year has been one of my favorite things. The talent you all have as journalists is unmatched. I can’t wait to see everything you guys do with TSC next year and in your careers. I’ll always be following along.

To next year’s producers, Ben Wolf, Andrew McBride, Drew Owens, Eddy Calkins and everyone else in the club, you have no idea how excited I am to see how you guys grow this organization. You guys have shown every day how passionate you are about journalism, and this organization. I do not doubt you’ll do amazing things. Keep killing it guys.

And last, but certainly not least, to my co-Executive Producer and one of my best friends, Ricky Podgorski, thank you for everything. I knew this role was something I didn’t want to take on by myself and I’m thankful I chose you to do it with me. Running an organization like this one as a full-time student isn’t easy, but we were always in it together. I’m so happy I was able to do it with you. We did fantastic. You were made to lead this organization. Although I won’t be sitting beside you during show days anymore, I’ll always be watching. I know I’m leaving this place in great hands. I can’t wait to see what you do with it.

I encourage everyone to join TSC if they have the opportunity. I hope you have just as amazing of a time as I had. And that it’s just as hard to say goodbye.
