Former Maryland football offensive tackle Jaelyn Duncan has been selected by the Tennessee Titans with the No. 186 pick in the sixth round of the 2023 NFL Draft.
Duncan became the first Terp offensive lineman drafted since Derwin Gray was taken in the fifth round of the 2019 draft.
A four-star recruit out of St. Frances Academy in Baltimore, Duncan excelled in his time in College Park. The 6-foot-6, 306-pound five-year Terp redshirted his freshman season in 2018 but became an impact starter the rest of the way.
Duncan started 11 of 12 games his redshirt freshman campaign at left tackle, and then started all five outings of the pandemic-shortened 2020 at left tackle, receiving a spot on the honorable mention All-Big Ten team.
Duncan was named an All-Big Ten honorable mention in each of his final two seasons. He made 11 starts in 2021, a pivotal piece of the Terps’ record-setting pass offense that set a program record for pass yards in a season. His senior season featured his most starts (12) and another All-Big Ten honorable mention, alongside an invitation to the Reese’s Senior Bowl.
The newest member of the Titans had a strong combine, finishing with the 11th-best score of any offensive tackle prospect in the draft, according to NFL Next Gen Stats.
Duncan became the fourth Terp taken in the draft behind Deonte Banks, Jakorian Bennett and Chad Ryland.
